Leaders-In-Training (LIT) Program
leadership & camp
AGQ’s LIT program is designed to be the first step into the world of camp counseling. LITs are given the opportunity and resources to gain leadership skills in the camp space in a variety of ways including planning all-camp activities, partnering with younger cabins to build connections, executing an all-camp brunch alongside the kitchen team, completing various service projects geared towards bettering camp, or engaging with the community, shadowing staff members to gain perspective, etc. The program is a great introduction to Counselor-in-Training, Junior Staff, and eventually Full Summer hiring.
reflection & self-growth
For many campers, the LIT summer is most often their final time at AGQ as a camper. The LIT staff work hard to have the LITs connect with Camp AGQ and with one another to build community and prioritize self-growth. Through various team-building exercises and intentional collaboration, LITs come away from their time at AGQ having reflected on what camp has given them, and ready to move forward as leaders, to give back to AGQ or their community as a whole.
The Leaders-In-Training (LIT) Program is open for campers going into 10th or 11th grade. A camper can only participate in the LIT program once per summer.
