THE CABINS
Camper lodging at YMCA Camp AGQ is made up of 24 large, one-room cabins in a classic rustic summer-camp style. Each camper has their own designated wooden bunk, with storage for personal belongings underneath or at the feet of the bed.
Embracing a true traditional camping style, the quarters are not air-conditioned but naturally cooled by ten screened windows. Each cabin is arranged by age group and sleeps up to 14 campers, accompanied by 2-4 counselors.
THE BATHHOUSES
When campers need to clean up after a day of outdoor adventure and fun, Camp AGQ has two bathhouses, one on the Northside and the Southside. Inside, there are private stalls for showers and toilets, as well as a shared sink area. Outdoor showers are also available outside each bathhouse. Campers are required to supply their own toiletries.
Packing Tip: Quick-drying shoes, slides, or sandals are highly recommended.
FERNE BESETT DINING HALL
The heart of camp, the Ferne Besett Dining Hall, is named after our beloved Camp Cook, who fed our campers for 35 years. The Dining Hall is where nearly all of our meals are prepared and served. We pride ourselves in serving kid-friendly meals that accommodate a wide variety of dietary needs.
All camp meals are planned by a Registered Dietitian, and prepared by Serv-Safe Certified staff.
Does your camper need to enroll in a food-allergy-friendly session?
E.C. ROWE RECREATION HALL
Our camp recreation building is named after Eugene C. “Gene” Rowe Jr., for his many years of vision and dedication to creating lifelong memories for campers. Rowe Hall is the host location of drama programming, Leaders-in-Training (LIT), talent shows, the camp store, hundreds of card games, and our fire camp dances – disco ball included!
In addition to being a creative community space at camp, Rowe Hall is a space where campers can see songbooks, photos, and other materials from the camp archives.
HEALTH CENTER
Built in 2016, The Sharon Swindell Clinic, referred to as “The Biggie”, is where all things health and wellness are located. Camper medications are stored in a temperature-controlled environment and distributed by our health staff team under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
