Teen Volunteer Leadership at Camp
Counselors in Training, commonly referred to as “CITs” is a teen leadership training program work up to two sessions during the summer season under the guidance of co-counselors. They lead a group of 8-12 campers and participate in the first stage of our progressive leadership development program, which prepares teens to work with children in a camp setting. Each cabin has one assigned CIT.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work alongside one to two co-counselors to ensure the safety and well-being of campers.
- Promote cabin unity, team building, and friendships among campers.
- Assist campers in collaborating and growing throughout their time at camp.
- Ensure that campers’ basic needs are met and that they are accounted for at all times.
- Participate in scheduled activities during the day.
REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of 10th or 11th grade
- Previous experience as a camper or participation in the Leader-in-Training program (preferred).
