CORE CAMP IS FOR CAMPERS AGES 8-16

In Core Sessions, campers join over 100 years of camp history at AGQ, participating in a wide range of outdoor activities across one-week or two-week sessions, spending the night in rustic cabins on the campgrounds at Burt Lake.

A TRUE SUMMER CAMP EXPERIENCE

Camp AGQ centers a camper-driven experience, built on the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

Under the supervision of our trained staff, we encourage children to take appropriate risks, foster relationships with peers, and be active members of our camp community. Campers are encouraged to make their own choices at camp – from independently picking their weekly activity hour areas (Woodshop, Archery, Library, Arts and Crafts, etc.), to self-management of personal camp store funds, and autonomous free-play time at camp.

At AGQ, we believe that the more choices children are encouraged to make independently, the more confidence they gain, and the better their experience at and beyond camp.
